New definition of guitar amps. Until today, guitarists could only choose between two types of amplifiers: heads and combos. Now, we are introducing a completely new breed: The Stomp-Head. It is a pure analog design with unprecedented light weight and small size. The amplifier can be placed either on a stage floor just beside the effects, in a traditional way on the top of the speaker cabinet, or set up on an effect board. It features a built-in foot switches which allow fast channel and sound shape changes during the performance. When the Stomp-Head is used as a head amp, an external standard foot switch or controller can be directly connected in order to access all of the amp’s features.
The Stomp-Head 4.SL is an ultra light, very compact floor amplifier with integrated foot-switch, designed to be set on the pedal board, along with effects or, placed directly on the stage floor. It greatly benefits the player with immediate access to all amps potentiometers and options. When the amp is set on the pedal board only one wire (speaker wire) is needed to setup the guitar sound on stage. This amplifier can also be placed on a top of a cabinet like a regular head. You can control the amp modes with an external controler or simple footswitch thanks to external controler socket.
The Taurus Stomp-Head 4.SL is an analog guitar amplifier based on tube technology which shapes sound in both preamp and power amp sections. The power amp is a hybrid build of transistors and tubes. The tubes are responsible for the dynamic and overall sound of the amplifier's output. All unwanted characteristics of the transistors are eliminated in order to preserve the true sound off the tube amp. Its details were carefully engineered and crafted to ensure the purest tube sound of the amplifier with the transformer output. Dynamic, compression and distortion characteristics are the same as in classical, high end tube amps. The sound is clean, punchy and saturated.
The amplifier features two (2) channels: Clean/Lead & Master section. Each channel can be independently selected by built-in foot switch. The sound of both channels is controlled through a three-point equalizer and volume potentiometers. While using the CLEAN channel, the over-driven CRUNCH sound can be selected via the food-switch and fluidly adjusted by potentiometer. The LEAD channel uses specially designed DRIVE circuitry to enrich harmonics and make the instrument’s sound characteristics even more vivid. This setup provides three different sounds under the player foot. The MASTER VOLUME and BOOST knobs shared by both channels can be found in the MASTER output section. The BOOST function allows a guitarist to mix his own stage sound. By pressing one of three switches on the top of the amp, obtain the two volume levels previously adjusted for chords or solos.
The Stomp-Head amplifier is also equipped with a serial effect loop. The LINE OUT with a speaker cabinet simulator allows the connection of the amplifier to a mixer or an external power amp.
Another special feature of the Stomp-Head is its power reduction switch which enables musicians to choose between a 70 or 40 Watts of power as well as a specially designed circuit which reduce the loudness of the amplifier while the full force of power stage is used. This function allows to use the amplifier at home or in studio on low level of loudness with the sound of fully cranked amp. Stomp head allows to use 4, 8 and 16 Ohm cabinet. The speaker impedance selector is placed on the back of the amplifier.
"I've got the Stomp-head and HOLY SHIT how great it sounds!!!! This is one of the smartest and best sounding amps i've heard...it's a real tube amp as a stomp box...just bring a small speaker cab and put effects in the loop and you're set." Tommy Denander.
"Ci sono uomini che fanno grandi cose e ci sono piccole cose che fanno grandi gli uomini ... Con questo "piccolo bastardo" Posso fare grandi cose"
"There are men who make great things and there are little things that make the men great ... With this "little bastard" I can do great things" Ruggero Robin
"The best new amplifier at the 2011 Frankfurt Musik Messe was for sure the Taurus Stomp Amp. It looks like a pedal but it is the power amp. Incredible idea. No long guitar cables running from pedals to the back of the stage, everything you need is at your feet. The only long cable needed is to go back to your speakers. The amp also sounds wonderful. 70 or 40 watts of clean or screaming power at your toe tips.. With it's effects loop right there it is so handy and easy to get your pedals run thru the inside of the amp not before the input. The best of all worlds with the two channels and their respective Crunch and Boost attenuators. I also love the stand bye button for changing guitars etc. All in all and incredibly clever, well planned and built to last a lifetime amp that you can throw in your carry on bag and take to Japan or anywhere for that matter for your concerts. Small package HUGE sound. Thank you Taurus, a technical problem we didn't know we had, beautifully solved." Bruce R Gaitsch Nashville TN 12/9/11
This is not a preamp and it's not digital. This is a real amplifier. I think that sometimes we lose ourselves while chasing a vintage sound.I've reached a point where i asked myself: would I rather recreate sound or create something totally new using a tool that no one has ever explored before. Then Stomp-Head came around, wonderful compact amp which gave me the sound I was looking for. I've tried to compare it to traditional heads and in my opinion the Stomp-Head sounds way better than most of them. Besides, it weights almost nothing. Stomp-Head's sound is unbeatable and if it comes to functionality it tops much more expensive amps. Boo-Boo.
Finally, the amplifier with a great and universal / versatile sound, with huge capabilities, and all this in such a small form. With Taurus you just need to plug in, amp does the rest. Pedro Andrea
"I love my Taurus Stomp Head...It gets a really great sound direct into the board and it also sounds great powering speakers. It's amazing that Taurus packed such a powerful amp into a such a small, light unit. Kudos to Taurus!" Michael Thompson
